Bardia Rahmany: The Visionary Entrepreneur Transforming Parking and Property Management Across Europe
Recently, I was honored to be featured in an insightful article by Elena Varga, published on Medium. The article beautifully encapsulates my journey and the innovative strides we’ve made in parking and property management. With permission, I am sharing the full text here for my readers:
Introduction
Bardia Rahmany is an ambitious entrepreneur with a remarkable journey spanning continents, industries, and innovations. Originally from Iran, Bardia has built a thriving career in Sweden, co-founding companies like My Parking in Sweden AB and QR Parking. His ventures are redefining how businesses and customers approach parking and property management. In this interview, Bardia shares his story, challenges, achievements, and vision for the future.
1. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?
Bardia Rahmany: My name is Bardia Rahmany. I was born in Iran, where I grew up until I was eighteen. I then moved to Sweden and have also spent time in the United States and Thailand, but most of my adult life has been in Sweden.
I started working as an independent web developer at the age of sixteen and have always had a passion for entrepreneurship. I’ve worked tirelessly to create opportunities and businesses, and I’m still on that journey, aiming to make things work and leave a lasting impact.
2. What inspired you to pursue entrepreneurship, and how did you get started on this path?
Bardia Rahmany: I’ve always been hard-working, but what pushed me toward entrepreneurship was the desire to create something of my own. I wanted my efforts to build something meaningful, something I could call mine.
My journey began when I worked for a startup remotely in New York while I was still in high school in Iran. Around seventeen, I started a small software company with classmates, making websites and IT solutions.
Later, I worked on a project called MicroECG, which aimed to develop a device for predicting heart failure. Although it wasn’t commercialized, the experience taught me invaluable lessons. After moving to Sweden, I worked for various startups and eventually founded NITC, a software company that helped businesses streamline their operations. From there, I got involved in My Parking in Sweden AB, which led to the creation of QR Parking, a global platform revolutionizing parking and property management systems.
3. Can you tell us more about QR Parking, My Parking in Sweden AB, and Trosta Parkering?
Bardia Rahmany: My Parking in Sweden AB operates two airport parking locations near Arlanda Airport under the brands Trosta Parkering and Arlanda City Parking. Our mission is to deliver the best customer experience at affordable prices. We focus on accessibility, convenience, and exceptional service to make parking a pleasant part of our customers’ journeys.
QR Parking is our global platform, offering a seamless property management system for parking businesses. It integrates real-time shuttle tracking, automated booking, and flight monitoring to streamline operations for both business owners and customers. We’re also exploring the expansion of QR Parking into other industries like hospitality, making property management simpler and more efficient.
4. What challenges have you faced as an entrepreneur, and how have you overcome them?
Bardia Rahmany: One of the biggest challenges is balancing work and life. I often work seven days a week, twelve hours a day. Prioritizing work over other aspects of life has been necessary.
Financial constraints have also been significant. I didn’t come from wealth, so I’ve had to carefully budget and find funding for projects like launching Arlanda City Parking. Managing resources, finding the right people for the right roles, and handling multiple businesses across locations have been challenging, but having a reliable business partner and a strong team has made a world of difference.
5. What are you most proud of in your entrepreneurial journey so far?
Bardia Rahmany: I’m proud of the incredible people I’ve met along the way. Entrepreneurship has connected me with inspiring individuals and experiences I wouldn’t have had otherwise. It has taught me resilience — how to shine under pressure and make tough decisions when others depend on me.
I’ve also been fortunate to travel to amazing places and build a sense of community with like-minded people who share my vision.
6. What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?
Bardia Rahmany: Believe in yourself, even when everything seems to be going wrong. Confidence and a bit of narcissism are essential.
Take action — start, even if it’s scary or uncertain. Entrepreneurship demands sacrifices, especially with time. It’s harder than being an employee, but the satisfaction of building something your own makes it worth the effort.
7. What are your future goals, both personally and professionally?
Bardia Rahmany: Professionally, I want to expand My Parking in Sweden AB into the largest parking company in Sweden and grow QR Parking into a global brand. We’re starting with Europe and then planning to enter North America and the Middle East.
We’re also exploring exciting new ventures outside the parking industry, which I hope to announce by late 2025.
On a personal level, I want to maintain a healthy body and mind, become more disciplined, and continue growing as a leader and entrepreneur. Ultimately, I aim to create something lasting and impactful while building strong relationships and enjoying life’s journey.
8. What are your hobbies or interests outside of work? How do you balance them with your busy entrepreneurial life?
Bardia Rahmany: I’ve been blessed to share the same interests with my business partners and friends, which helps balance work and leisure. Traveling is one of my favorite hobbies, but I enjoy exploring less touristy, unique destinations that blend business with leisure.
I also love playing music — I used to perform professionally when I was younger. I still play the drums and piano occasionally, which helps me maintain logic, discipline, and emotional balance. Another big passion of mine is martial arts, particularly Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. These keep me in shape both mentally and physically while spending quality time training and sparring with friends.
Interviewer: Thank you, Bardia, for sharing your inspiring story and journey. Your passion for innovation and personal growth is truly remarkable, and we look forward to seeing what you achieve next.
